Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the importance of the National Sports Award for Russian sports
The candidates for the National Sports Award have become known — based on the results of all-Russian competitions of the Russian Ministry of Sports, 54 finalists in 18 nominations have been identified. The laureates will be announced at a ceremony on November 30 at the State Kremlin Palace.
Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the importance of the award for the domestic sports sector.
“On instructions from President Vladimir Putin, we support competitive activity and create new open competition formats, including innovative ones. The National Sports Award provides an opportunity to recognize outstanding athletes and coaches, sports professionals, media representatives and even entire regions. All of them are role models for the younger generation and encourage them to engage in physical education and sports. This year the competition received more than 480 applications, 54 of which made it to the finals. The expert council must determine the most worthy laureates,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
“This year we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the management of the domestic system of physical culture and sports. It is especially pleasant in this significant year to celebrate those who, with their achievements and hard work, inspired sports and a healthy lifestyle. The National Sports Award is an assessment and recognition of merit. For the award holders, this is an incentive to move on and continue to improve the sports system. We are preparing a bright festive program dedicated to the anniversary — this is a common holiday for all representatives of the sports sector. I hope that the gala event will be remembered for a long time by the participants and guests for the soulful atmosphere and unity of our sports community,” emphasized Russian Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin.
“Russia traditionally pays a lot of attention to the development of sports, as evidenced by the victories of our athletes at international championships. As part of the federal project “Sport is the norm of life” of the national project “Demography”, infrastructure is being created throughout the country, events and master classes are being held, which makes it possible to intensify mass sports work at all levels. The year 2024, declared by the President as the Year of Sports in Russia, will give an additional impetus to the sports movement,” added Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The national sports award was established by the Russian Government in 2010. It is awarded annually in the following categories: “Overcoming — “Best Athlete”, “Overcoming — “Best Athlete”, “Overcoming “Best Coach”, “Nadezhda Russia — the best organization of adaptive sports”, “Nadezhda Russia” — the best sports school”, “Sport for All” is the best organizer in rural areas”, “Sport for All” is the best organizer at the place of residence, work, “The best organization for the implementation of the All-Russian Sports Society “Ready for Labor and Defense”, “For Service to Sports”, “Sports Solidarity” «», «The Pride of Russia» — Athlete of the Year», «The Pride of Russia» — Athlete of the Year», «The Pride of Russia» — Coach of the Year», «The Pride of Russia» — An era in sports», «Sports Parnassus» — the best journalist», «Sports Parnas» — the best media product», «Sports facility of Russia», «Region of Russia»: The best subject.»
The winners of the Prize are determined in several stages. The first stage of selection of laureates takes place in the format of all-Russian competitions in nominations in the field of physical culture and sports. Members of the competition commissions review applications and determine three finalists in each of 18 nominations. At the second stage, the Expert Council determines the laureates. The Expert Council includes famous athletes, coaches, politicians and cultural figures of Russia.
Over the years, award nominees have included such star athletes and coaches as Evgenia Kanaeva, Adelina Sotnikova, Sofia the Great, Anna Shcherbakova, Alexander Bolshunov, Elena Vyalbe, Nikita Kryukov, Alexey Mishin, Evgeny Trefilov, Vitaly Smirnov, Tatyana Tarasova, Nikita Simonyan, Irek Zaripov , Mikhalina Lysova, Varvara Voronchikhina.
