“On instructions from President Vladimir Putin, we support competitive activity and create new open competition formats, including innovative ones. The National Sports Award provides an opportunity to recognize outstanding athletes and coaches, sports professionals, media representatives and even entire regions. All of them are role models for the younger generation and encourage them to engage in physical education and sports. This year the competition received more than 480 applications, 54 of which made it to the finals. The expert council must determine the most worthy laureates,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

The National Sports Award is an assessment and recognition of merit. For the award holders, this is an incentive to move on and continue to improve the sports system. I hope that the gala event will be remembered for a long time by the participants and guests for the soulful atmosphere and unity of our sports community,” emphasized Russian Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin.
